About Savita
Dr. Savita Macmurdo is a classically trained Bharatanatyam dancer with over 26 years of experience in Indian dance. She trained in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and has spent more than 20 years performing and teaching Indian folk and Bollywood dance styles.
Since 2015, she has been actively involved with Devyani School of Cultural Arts, where she has taught for several seasons through the Devyani Dancers program. Today, she serves as Co-Director of the school, supporting the Indian community of Central Florida with a focus on West Indian culture. Through cultural education, outreach, and community engagement, she works closely with public institutions and nonprofit organizations to build meaningful partnerships and organize events that celebrate and preserve Indian dance traditions.
She is also proudly passing on her dance legacy to her daughter, who is now an avid Devyani dancer.
